The book is a collection of seven books covering the customs of Beijing from the wanli period of the Ming dynasty to the republic of China period (about 600 years). Including "Beijing saihua ji", "emperor jing saiji ji sheng", "yanjing saiji", etc., it systematically describes the life (rituals, food, entertainment/rituals) of the imperial court, banner people and common people from New Year to la yue in chronological order. The book contains a total of 72 illustrations, each of which is accompanied by a poem for observing nature and a commentary on agriculture. The depiction conveys the change of life in the ancient capital of Beijing, and at the same time, it conforms to the deep thought of Taoism and nongben. The 600-year-old three-dimensional folk scroll, composed of seven seasons, is an indispensable core historical source for the study of Beijing's urban history, Chinese folklore, and traditional social and cultural studies.
